I have built a custom computer about 2 months ago and when i added an internal dvd burner, no drive shows up in my computer or in device manager. When i boot to bios it says i have the dvd burner as slave and theres no primary, i need help!
~amd 4200 x2 duel core,
~2 250gb sata harddrives,
~2gb memory.

set it as master drive if its alone.

Look at the back of your cdrom ther should be a jumper set it to master if it is on its own ide.

Enter into your bios and make sure it it set to auto detect the drives.

if you added a dvd burner is it by it;s self or do you also have a cdrw ? if it's single check the jumper and change it to master , if it's not the cd player needs to be the master and the dvdrw to slave

go to start then go to the bottom selection find it in the big list or press start go onto my computer go to a disc icon it should say the name of your drive or cd rom
