My 5 month old son seems to like looking at things upside down. If he's laying across my lap on his back, he hangs his head as far over my legs as he can until he's upside down. He does the same thing while lying on the floor...he turns around so he's looking at me upside down. Is there a reason for this or is he just being a silly kid?

I think that with babies... they just love to see the world from a different perspective. I surely don't think there is anything wrong with your baby. I think nearly all babies and toddlers get interested in viewing the world from this angle at some point. I wouldn't stress too much, he is more than likely just being a "silly kid".

So does my daughter! It seems everything is better when she is upside-down! I think this is normal behavior, I have known many babies who like this.

Make sure that he is not upside down for very long, as it causes the blood to go to his head. I would suggest maximizing his upside down time to a few seconds at a time.

I don't think you should be concerned, my daugther is 6 months and she just started doing the same thing, its kinda cute to watch. They are just checking out the world at a different prespective. My daughter does it to the cat all the time, its so cute. Whats even cutier is when I do it to her and she copies me. Try it.

I remember doing that as a kid, well into kindergarten. It was just fun to see things differently. Your child is just exploring his world. I wouldn't worry about it.
