I disagree with part of what he said, but I don't see why he should have to apologize. They asked for his opinion. He gave it to them and they need to recognize he has every right to his opinion. He wasn't forcing it on anyone---unlike some of the Hollywood celebrities

Its odd how being liberal is opposite to Republican... It should be liberal-conservative or Democrat-Republican and in the sphere of public discourse republicans seem to be the masters of media manipulation. It is odd that the Republicans so often respond to the truth by attacking the messenger and when a Democrat does the same they are accused of engaging in character assassination...?

If he apologizes I will lose all respect for him and he is a Great American. I don't necessarily agree w/his opinion...but you are right, he has the right to those opinions and he has the right to voice them. He thinks homosexuality is immoral, that is his prerogative, he agrees w/don't ask don't tell...why is everyone up in arms...people are so darn sensitive!

Because his remarks demonstrate an unreasoned and unreasonable personal bigotry and he represents a significant aspect of America - our Armed Forces. He has no right to damage our Armed Forces, no matter what he personally thinks of homosexual people. We are, right now, in DESPERATE need of speakers of Arabic - yet in the last couple years, the Armed Forces have forced out more than seventy expert speakers of Arabic because they happened to be gay. Have you ever heard the admonition "Don't cut off your nose to spite your face"?
Tell me - why are you more afraid of gay people than you are of Islamic terrorists? And do you think that makes ANY sense whatsoever?
