I have done three tests (one of which was an early response test) at the 5 day late stage and all came back negative so it seems pretty conclusive that I am not pregnant.

I am not stressed.

I have not had any great weight loss or gain.

Bar a cold I have had no illness in the last couple of months.

I am booked in for a blood test on Monday but I just wondered if anyone could give me some ideas of what might be the cause.

(I also know that there is still a slim chance that I am pregnant but excluding that what might be the reason)

Many thanks for your help in andvance.

I am already booked to see a doctor but I just wanted to get some ideas of what it might be. I am also aware that it might be nothing other than hormones. But assuming it IS something and is NOT pregnancy... what could it be?

Female hormones are a funny thing. Are you normally very regular? I am somewhat regular but once in a while I will have a 30 day cycle (normally a 25 for me) and other times I might have a 21 day cycle. I don't know why but it is that way. It's a good idea to go see your doctor and make sure there is nothing causing the irregularity.

Every once in a while a woman will just be "late". You most likely just ovulated later than normal and will be getting your friend soon. As long as you aren't old enough to be going through menopause, then I don't know of anything else that would cause you to be "late".
