i found it in ice inside a tire march 18.it has yellow on its belly

a lot of lizards have yellow on it's belly so that doesn't help much. If we knew where you were located at would help a lot more than the color of it's belly. The best thing you can do is google a search for liards in the area that you live in and match up pics.

Having yellow on it's bellow doesn't tell me jack. What I do to identify animals I've caught is I go online, research a general category like for you, research lizards and compare pictures of different species to your lizard and eventually, you'll get your answer. A good way to narrow down the search is to look for lizzards that are common in your area or the area you found the lizard in. Good luck!

Let it go. Wild animals don't do well in captivity. It's cruel to keep it confined.
