Why are all conservaties so set on denying even the possibility of global warming? I fail to see what is wrong with trying to clean up the planet.

Conservatives tend to be more concerned about the economy. They are also slower to get behind new ideas and attach themselves to trendy causes. Taking strong measures to cut man-made greenhouse emissions will be costly and create an economic slowdown. If it's clear that that is necessary to save the planet or avert environmental catastrophe, then it is the clear course to follow. However, it is by no means clear that global warming is man-made, so there little enthusiasm for putting the brakes to the economy.

Nothing wrong with cleaning up the planet. There is only a consensus on global warming. This not a scientific proven answer. There is to many main stream scientist who believe it is not because of human acts the warming occurs. The sun is getting warmer. The ice caps on Mars are melting but there is no humans there. China is going to pass the US next year as the most polluting country but the Keto Treaty would have no effect on them. Back in the seventies everyone was screaming global cooling.

Because this world will go through many changes as it has been doing for millenia, are we to blame the ancient cave men because there was an ice age, what makes it so ironic is that Al Gore who was vicepresident for eight years and could have brought it up then did nothing, but now is getting all the publicity for being concerned about global warming,Personally I think he's full of hot air,and that might be part of the problem.

Ok I will try to be serious on this subject for a change. I for one have no problem "cleaning up" the planet and I also have no problem with trying to reduce our dependence on foreign oil. I favor research and investment in alternative energy sources not because the moron Al Gore tells me I have to but because it makes good economical and political sense. What I object to is liberals telling us global warming is man made. The earth is millions and millions of years old and goes through warming and yes cooling cycles. Too many people are using man made global warming as a Trojan horse to support other agendas that have nothing to do with global warming.

It isn't horrible. What the conservatives are trying to point out is that this state that the Earth is in right now is a phase. True, it's made worse by us humans and our gas usage (and we do need to cut down on that). But the global warming would have happened even without us. It's a phase.

Conservative don't deny the possibility. They want open scientific study to be done before we commit to a reckless program to curb CO2 that will cost millions of jobs, lower the standard of living for all Americans (Except Al Gore) and prevent the development of third world nations.
The liberals want to shut up anyone who has scientific evidence that man made global warming is a myth

The operative word is "MIGHT".

You might be a fat ***, but are you?

You might be gay, but are you?

You might be uglier than the north end of a south bound dog, but are you?

You might actually have some brains, but do you?

You get the jest of it, until you can prove and by proof, I mean other than Al Gore saying it is going to happen, then I might tend to take it seriously.

Because if global warming exists we are all screwed. There is going to be a lot of thing that aren't going to be easily fixed if global warming is real. We will also have to change the way we live, we will have to preserve our natural resources, which means cutting down on a lot waste. Republican like waste and don't want to change. They are the party of waste, look at the war, they even like to waste people.

I am not denying its existence and see nothing wrong with being environmentally conscious. I have a major problem however with overzealous politicians who are using it for their own political and financial gain.

I believe global warming exists. Even if it might not exist we should still try to clean up the planet.
