Well let this be a lesson learnt. Speak to others how you would wish them to speak to you! Everybody makes mistakes. I am sure everthing will be fine, starting a new job is always a nerve wrecking experience, I know I have just started one myself. Go in, be as friendly as you can, show everyone your a great person, and I am sure all will be forgiven

The exact same thing happened to me! I had applied to work in a newly-opening department store, and I sent in a general application form. The Manager in each department was responsible for recruiting staff for their own department, and even though I had only submitted one application, it had been passed to two different Managers. I went and interviewed with one Manager, Jeff, and he said he would let me know about the job. I then had an interview with another Manager, Shona, and she offered me the job on the spot. A couple of days later Jeff called to tell me that I didn't get the job, so I was pretty rude to him and said curtly that he should know that I had already been hired to the company.
The thing is, these are your new employers and you straight away think that they obviously have internal communication issues if they allow this sort of thing to happen. So it's really not a good first impression for you to have of an employer, and in fact they should be the ones apologising to you, not the other way around! My story happened years ago - it was a part-time job whilst I was at university - and I am now a recruiter, and I understand the importance of the employer making a good impression on you, as well as you making a good impression on them.
The outcome of my story was that when I started, Jeff didn't even remember me, so there was certainly no need to have stressed about it!!!

The last job I had,the first day was a disaster they gave me an 20 year old shitty truck to take a 600 mile round trip, after about 25 the wheel snapped clean off. When I phoned the office I could hear the boss blaming me in the back ground when told of the problem.
When I went into the office I had a blazing argument with him and I walked out,the next day he was groveling to me on the phone I told him to piss off so dont worry about a thing and good luck.

He probably feels worse than you do for not knowing what was happening inside his own company. You weren't rude to him - you simply told him the truth. It would have been a lot worse for you to show up to the interview knowing that you already got the job!
Don't worry about it, and if you meet him once you start there you can have a good laugh about it.

I wouldn't worry. You rang back to apologise.
Best thing you can do is not stress too much at first. When you find out who it was you should seek them out and laugh it off ... just apologise and explain how you were feeling.
Why not ask them out for a pint after work - you might find that it's actually an unusual ice breaker!
Good luck tomorrow!

What a dilemma. The only thing you can is find the person and apologise. Explain what you have said here about being sressed and you wil find he will be fine.
Good luck with the new job

make light of it - if you bump into this person, introduce yourself and say light heartedly, sorry I was a bit abrupt - I am really a nice person ha ha etc - nice to meet you. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Good luck for tomorrow.
