I just sent in my housing deposit for Keene State College and now i'm getting worried. I've heard its a pretty big party school and I'm not the biggest partier in the world and definatly not a huge drinker. Will I find any friends there or anyone I have anything in common with?

If you are friendly, honest, enthusiastic, and open-minded, you will find good friends in college.

If this school has the major you want to pursue and has other aspects that are exciting and appealing to you, then you will probably be fine. Go to your classes and get to know the other students who are serious about their education. Go to outside concerts and lectures and other events that interest you and meet other people who feel the same way.

Even if a school has a party reputation, think about it: if ONLY party people went there, the place would probably have to shut down. I'm sure there are committed and thoughtful people who are there first to get an education. Some of them may be partiers too, but not all of them will be.

You sound like you know who you are. Knowing your limits and respecting them is a great lesson--too many people learn it the hard way. Go to school and embrace the new experience--partying isn't the only way to do that!

No worries. The great thing about college is that there are so many different people there. Not only will you make friends, but you'll make your best friends...people you will keep up with for the rest of your life. Just because one type of scene isn't for you doesn't mean that there won't be anything for you to do there. Take a weekend visit there and just explore to see what goes on. Talk to an admissions counselor on what kind of activities go on for the "non-party" crowd on weekends. I think you'll find that there will be plenty for you to do. And just because there's a party doesn't mean you have to get sloshed...lots of people go to parties and don't drink a ton and still have a great time.

Even strict non-party schools have plenty of parties. And the biggest party schools have students who never go to one.

While you may not be able to connect extremely well with the campus as a whole, you should easily be able to find sensible (i.e. non-partying) friends who share your same beliefs about drinking and recreational and leisure time.

Think of it this way: You've decided to attend and live at Keene and it's extremely unlikely that every other single person attending the school shares opposite beliefs than you on drinking/partying.

And, if it's of any comfort, Keene State, from what I know, is only moderate on partying; it's nowhere near the level of Miami (FL) or UW-Madison.

I definitely were partying ever in view that i replaced into round 15 too yet extraordinarily I definitely have under no circumstances were given targeted on drugs or cigarettes yet i do drink a touch. I dont imagine you should call you mom because i imagine dealing with that degree is in simple terms life. each teen is going via that degree and that i imagine using drug definitely relies upon on each individual. you've the flexibility to regulate in case you want to apply it at a social gathering or no longer. It also pertains to verify rigidity yet in case you acquire a strong draw close of that, then you definitely're strong.

No matter what college you go to there are going to be a variety of different people. Even if you go to a college with a party school reputation there are still going to be people that don't want to party. Not everyone is going to want to party.
