What are some modern tragic heroes in recent movies and tv shows?

a tragic hero is a protagonist that usually has a terrible downfall that usually results in his death but not always

i really need a modern tragic hero (ie-NO SHAKESPEARE). and it cannot be from literature. so shows like Friends or movies like Pursuit of Happiness would be fine. thanks so much. any suggestions or help would be gladly appreciated.
