I think it's fair to say that people have been treated unfairly based on both race and gender.

So, everything else being equal- both middle class, and of similar backgrounds, who do you think has more opportunity these days, between a black man and a white woman?

Just wanted to get a gauge on where the racial and gender politics are headed these days...

It depends on the geographic location. In the redneck South the white woman would get the job. The big city corporate companies will shy away from the woman regardless of race. A black man would look good for the companies image. California would go with the woman ,just because she is a woman. The mid west and central states would go with who is most qualified as long as the black is from there. Sound sad but that's the way the U.S. works. To bad MJK Jr. was killed. If he was around and was involved with the whole civil rights process this country would be a lot better

Although I think everyone should have the same opportunities, whether it be a job or whatever , unfortunately , everyone does not feel the same . { of course they will also have to be equally qualified or trained for that particular job ! } It would depend on the judge. By assuming that an employer will automatically deny or advance someone based only on their appearance is also stereo-typing.Not every " boss " is an *** ! Just like EVERY " black man " HASN'T been to prison , and SOME " white men " CAN jump !

I am white, I am a supervisor. I have a co-worker who is also a supervisor, happens to be black and male.

I really like the guy. However, no one is going to tell me that we are both equally empowered. I do all the work, he gets the credit.

Women are still on the wrong side of the glass ceiling. Sometimes I think a terrorist would get more respect than women in the work place.

Its not about race in this context, its definitely the all boys club, and its still "no girls allowed."

As far as colleges and jobs, black men. It's harder for women to get into colleges now, and job wages are almost always higher for men.

Elsewhere in society, white women. The stereotype of white women is somewhat better that that of black men.

no i think of they supply it and circulate that way because of the fact the mothers and dads did no longer coach them to detect an knowledgeable guy so IM particular your getting the backside of the barrel. yet it quite is okay because of the fact their very own sort (men) do no longer choose them so which you choose for it and stable good fortune
