Not quite sure what you mean by my response.....

The migrants went West because their job prospects in Oklahoma were nil. Many lost their farms or their jobs due to the drought. They viewed California as a possible solution to their economic problems. Unfortunately, too many workers arrived, overwhelming the local economies -- leading to more unemployment in California, crowded and unsanitary living conditions, and violence.

Nobody really did anything to help them. Ignorance is bliss, they tended to blame the people with the problem instead of trying to help. But to think we are any better today is just ignorance. Whether it is your neighbour or the people the other side of the world there are people suffering that we can help out. But we tend to just blame them for their own problems instead of looking for solutions.

I am most certain that will happen or some such thing like it again, sooner than some think. This time it will be very different. And it will be the same.
