There is always some sexual blood lust connected to them, and also the intrigue is how they appear almost human but really they are fiends, that are far from human, but their form is like a humans, they usually speak well, and come across so gracious until their beastly blood lust is revealed.

I will answer your second question first. The connection between vampires and sex didn't actually take root (or at least become a phenomenon) until Anne Rice began writing novels, wherein vampires WERE sexual beings.
However, if you think about it vampires and the way they feed is very sexual. They take blood either through the neck or through the wrist. Both of those places are said to be erotic spots on most men and women.
Okay, now on to your first question. People are filled with such awe and are fascinating because they are so different. Also because vampires live and thrive in a world we as humans find frightening, the night.

Well there must be something attractive about the dark side that draws people to it. All vampires have charisma and sex appeal (except for Nosferatu). Some women find pale skin very attractive in tall, dark, mysterious men. Female vampires are attractive because they have pale skin, full breasts, and long shiny hair, a favorite of many men. Have you noticed that vampires always bite necks, and the neck is an erogenous zone for both men and women? Even though I don't believe in vampires personally, many of my friends are firm believers in the romantic macabre created by Anne Rice and Bram Stocker.

I don't believe in Vampires but I love the show Angel but it is a show that is full of excitement, not just the Vampire with a soul. There are demons, both good and evil, there are lessons to be learned from the writing of that show which is you will always have consequences for your actions and just some excellent fight scenes too.

I think that people are infatuated with vampires because they deal with blood, something so vital to our being. They get seem to hypnotize us, with big eyes, and then they get close to us, and the sexual aspect is that they bite us on the neck. The "hickey" is a sexual act. Vampires extract blood instead of leaving hickeys, but it seems so sexual. The vampire holds us while intimately caressing the neck in a "hickey-like" suck. A bit of pain associated with sex is not an old notion. Vampires are very sexual. Women accosted by vampires seem to be a symbol of aggressive sex. No, no don't! But he does it anyway. It is kind of like rape, isn't it? Hmmm..... sick in a way.

i love this type of question. i took a class on vampire narratives last semester (which kicked @$$!) so here are some direct notes from it:
sexuality about vampires:
-vampire texts combine 2 things : sex and terror
-surrender to forbidden pleasures
-dominance; to have the power over another
-physical attraction/attractiveness
-sucking is sexy
-appeal of immortality
-they come out at night
-blood
-pervasive
-connection of life and death
also here's some more notes just on why people read horror books. kinda related
-adrenaline rush
-physical sensation
-subconcious need
-want to experience danger, grotesque, dirty, raw and unpleasant stuff in a safe environment
-imagination
a chance to experience the un-reality
-sexuality
-scary/vapmire texts combine two things: sex and terror
-need i say more?
-the forbidden
(also must evolve to continue with sense of forbidden)

Not saying they exist. But most stories I believe are
because of vampire bats. Its sort of interesting to hear
the different stories. But as for the second part of your
question don't know how the connection got started.
Unless biting someone's neck is the connection.

The concept of vampires derives out of the Romantic Period of literature..... the supernatural, romantic genre and its authors such as Mary Shelly and Bram Stoker have captivated audiences for over a century. The idea of vampires has branched off from this and taken on a life of its own. That's my guess.

Because vampires are kind of scary , mysterious but maybe sexy , in a way ... Plus , vampires are usually looking like a very cut guy , with some very noticeable tenths .Think about the methods they kill ... biting your neck , it's kind of very close to you comparing , with other stupid monsters who kill people in more disgusting was as..(.cutting them or eating them) . They at least get very close to girls and with another step they can get to sex . That is what I think . And believe me I saw enough scary movies , with all the kinds of bad characters .
