My poor mother seems to have one serious health problem right after another. Over the years she's had to have her gall bladder removed, she's had cancer twice, she's had 3 strokes, graves disease, 2 heart attacks, she uses a colostomy bag because she had to have her colon removed, and she had a gastric bypass surgery that failed miserably and kept her hospitalized for nearly a year. On top of it all, she's got bi-polar disorder.

It is unfortunate to hear about your mom. You, as a family, should be blessed that she is still around. She may not be as mobile as some parents, but I am sure that you remember, and you MUST that she loves you. It is not her time to go and enjoy every waking moment you have.

My mother-in-law is not bad off, but she is a survivor of breast cancer, and she has been cancer free for 12 years. She has just learned that she has had a clogged artery for years, and she also has an aneurysm on her heart as well (spelling not accurate, sorry). Everyday that she wakes up she is thankful, because we all know that is the disease that is a quiet killer.

As for the bi-polar (I am a psych student), I hear that one good med for this is medicinal pot. Instead of being on all those chemicals that will counter-balance out what is lacking in areas of the brain, why not have something that is created by our Creator. If He did not want that to be around and used for medicine, it wouldn't be here.

As for the bad luck, if there wasn't any sort of luck, good or bad, we wouldn't have any luck at all.

Take care and enjoy every moment. Because you never know (healthy or ill) when it can be your last.

Katie is 48 she is confined to a wheel chair due to seizures and strokes. She has Lupus, Fibryomyalgia, Hepatitus B, and is now being treated for a Myalgia bone marrow cancer. She is on 30 medications including prednisone which makes her swell up like a ballon. She took fosamax and now the bone in her cheeks is rotting and they must pull 3 teeth.

oh sweety,Im sorry. Your mom sounds like my mom, minus the colostomy bag, which seems like that might be a possibility, for the same reasons, something about if she doesn't it could kill her, suffocate her? I don't understand that beings it's a colon, but She's had so SO many surgery's,opened from chest down to her pubic area,on the sides of her,you name it.it all started when she was young with her appendics, then numerous miscarriage's,tubal pregnancy, still born, hysterectomy,on and on,and worse as she got older. Its very very sad. She too suffers bi-polar.

Wow that's tough. My grandmother had cancer of one form or another from the time I was 6 until she passed when I was 32.

I have a girl friend that is a hypochondriac. She gets everything I do only worse.
