Absolutely there is no particular reason for choosing Pondicherry by Subramania Bharatiar, Mother and Arobindo. I feel they all choose this place for the calm environment and the seashore. Three is a very small number when comparing the total number of freedom fighters, philosophers etc, lived in Tamilnadu. It is also not for Asylum they came to Pondichery because of French rule. Any how your guessing and question is good, but there is no answer for the same. .
