If you really like color go with a burnt umber. Its actually like an orange BUT It makes your room look much larger. I put it in a house I used to have and when a workman that had seen my house before saw it after I painted it. He thought it was a different house because it was so much larger. You could pair it with a cream color and it would look great. Maybe use it as the accent wall. Good Luck

We have a 14x66 trailer, and were skeptical about using a dark color...We did 2 walls in a burgundy color, and 2 walls are a cabbage green...It turned out just beautiful, and the room even looks bigger...We also walk straight into the living room, and kitchen...For our kitchen We did some in cabbage green, and we did the cabinet door surrounds in the burgundy...It looks gorgeous! So, take a chance; you can always re-paint over it...Just remember the red colors need to have a good primer, as it will take quite a few more coats to color it any good if you don't...

Tan is a great color for a small dining room. It is light, which makes the room appear bigger, but it is also elegant, giving you opportunity to play up your dining room. A deep red is greaet for an accent. I painted my family room tan with one red wall, and it was the perfect touch.

you can paint your room burgundy with an off white color,i suggest a paint that gives a suede look and it also gives the brushedlook of suede,it comes in about 7 colors and they are really worth the time and money,or you can go with a lighter color i dont know what colors you like best ,but overall the suede look is great, and it gives a beautiful look to walls.. ,

You can paint your walls any color and they would be fine. My son's room is very small and he painted his wall's a deep, dark blue and his room looks larger. (he also painted his ceiling the same color)

Paint it YOUR favorite color. Disregard the size of the room. Enjoy your space!

The general rule of optics is ... the darker the room (or one with bright colors)- the smaller it appears. So that is why light colors are used in houses in general.
Work with that knowledge in mind.

go to lowe's.com & use the virtual painter. You can paint sample rooms, (ones similar to yours) with hundreds of colors/combinations. Keep "painting" til you find what you like. Fun to use, it beats looking at paint chips & guessing what looks good with what.
