How to get .5 pixel borders?

Hi there,
In dreamweaver the minimum border is 1 pixel, however, on ebay the table borders seem to be .5 or something...

How can they do that?

There is no way a monitor can turn half a pixel black, so 1 pixel is the smallest feature you can specify. You can get a lighter-looking border by specifying a color other than black and/or dashed or dotted style: {border: #AAA 1px dashed;}, for example.
