To learn to understand the meaning of love.

A long time ago I thought that love was something that you reserved for some special set of people that you had judged worthy of it.

After a while I got to thinking about what Jesus had said about turning the other cheek and loving our neighbor I put the two together and realized that he had made no exceptions in these statements. It became obvious to me that he intended that we exclude no one from the love that we are supposed to be giving. I started thinking about my idea of love and suddenly realized that I had not been loving anyone at all. I had simply been judging everyone and every thing.

Judging someone worthy of love is not love, it is only judgment. I actually started to cry when I realized this. I saw just how much of my life I had wasted being judgmental, thinking of myself as a Christian, when I was actually doing just the opposite of what Jesus had asked us to do.

I thought about the verse judge not lest ye be judged, and I understood it for the first time.

I realized that I have a lot of catching up to do. So many opportunities were wasted. I now try to apply the love that I have for the world in a universal way like Jesus asks us to do.

If I start to feel afraid and think that I see someone that I should not love because of something I have thought or heard I try to catch my mistake as soon as possible. I tell myself that I have forgot the truth and have fallen for the same old trick that had cost me so many opportunities to be loving in the past. The horror of this realization is often all that is necessary to bring me back to my senses and make me drop the judgmental nonsense I was thinking.

I still have a lot to learn about love, but at least I’m making progress.

Love and blessings

Your brother

Some are born by mistake, some by desire and 'chance'. But none is born of one's own choice. Yet all and everyone is born by design and approval.

There are therefore two levels. The lower agency procreates physically. The higher level creates with a destiny.

Every person is born to be re-born or to be born again. The first birth is therefore by choices beyond one's control. The second birth is by one's own choice.

The longetivity of the first birth is maximum 120 years. the longetivity of the second birth has no maximum. It is Life Eternal.

Eternal Life is a gift of God. If you accept the substitutionary death and believe that someone having a status like God, called the Lamb of God, died for you, and the same being rose up again having defeated death, then you too will share in the second birth.

If you do not care to be born again, as a matter of your own conviction, then you will not be, and your life on earth is all that you'll ever have. You have nothing more to look forward to.

The purpose of being born is therefore to experience a life cast in the dust of the earth and to make critical choices --- and if you believe in metamorphosis, you will oneday have wings like the butterfly. But I think ordinarily no caterpillar ever dreamt or imagined that. Only caterpillars who have vision understand that.

If you happen to have that vision, it is a gift.

I agree with Don H. I was born into this world to be loved by God and to love Him back and through this to love other people like myself. Basically to learn to love. However, knowing why i was born into this world does not mean that i am doing it perfectly. Infact, I have a long way to go in learning to love God and others.

I was born into this world because my parents had unprotected sexual intercourse, leading to my conception, development in my mother, and eventual birth.

My purpose for existing is simple, to make the most out of the time that fate has allowed me to enjoy being conscious, and to let other people enjoy their conscious existence. I do not think we have a purpose from birth, but that we create a purpose for living and try to live the best we can by it.

I devote my life to protecting those who need protection, and to protect logic and rationality from ignorance and bigotry. I hope to help the human species to over come whatever problems we come across during my lifetime by whatever means I can muster; even if it means sacrificing my existence.

A great question. But the answer is simple.
"I BORN IN THIS WORLD TO WIN."
Yes, to win the human hearts through true love and affection.
To win the fate without diffidence.
To win the time by planning.
To win the life with perseverance and friendship.

All the others were closed for repairs.

Do you mean to be asking the question" Why were you born?"

If that's the question, the answer is I had very little choice in the matter.

It was my time to be, to experience this world. To suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune as the Bard once said. To be that link between all the yesterdays and all the tomorrows. To be one among many that makes the reality that is life among the stars.

I've wondered that myself, especially when I've been through alot of trials and bad luck. I was put on this earth to be dealt a "crappy" hand and to deal with the situation and keep moving on. I also think that our purpose in life is to make someone elses life better!!!
