What is A Great And terrible beauty about? Is it a good book for kids 13-14? I need more details on this book. My mom might not let me read it because it might be scary or something but I really like books with this kinda stuff.

It depends on how strict your mom is. It is about a young girl--15 or 16--or discovers that she is a 'witch' of sorts and has the power to enter other realms and do magic. If your mom is fine with that, then there is nothing else in the book that would make it "inappropriate" for a 13 or 14 year old. It's not *too scary* in my opinion. And I've always been of the opinion that if a book you picked up started to scare you or freak you out...you'd have the sense to put it down and read something else.

I love the book. But it has to do with witchcraft..well sort of- and the likes....I don't think you're mum would le tyou read it darlin'! But I suggest Pride and Prejudice! I adore it. Maybe Meg Cabots books...they're normally pretty good for your age. The Life of Pi. and Judy Blume...Good LUCK!

omg i just finished that book like two days ago. it is about a girl named gemma who has this special power where she has premonitions and so she has to defeat the person who killed her mother along with her three other friends named felicity pippa and ann. it is a really good book and i highly recommend it
