You can find abundance of information about beryllium, it uses and some physical properties can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beryllium. The current cost of the metal is $5300/kg. I would write as much information as possible about beryllium , how it is produce, how much it cost and its uses. Hope this helps

-----I do not understand either. I wonder if you have the instructions for your project down right. You can search on the Internet for "gold" or "silver" or "beryllium" and find out a huge amount of information about those or any element. Perhaps you can check your project instructions with a classmate. It sounds like a fun project; enjoy. ---Jim

I really do not fully undrstand what you are asking.
Why Beryllium?......could it not be mercury?
Mercury can be easily made from the orange powder mercury(ii) oxide HgO....by just heating it in a test-tube.
The oxygen gas will escape, leaving mercury on the upper cooler part of the test-tube.
I have done this experiment before........email me if you need more details..... peterlim@plenrich.com
