"more better' ok?...kind of hard to have a lion as a pet at home...so....some animals are good at home...and some belong in a zoo! geez!

That really depends on the type of pet. Small ones and pets that are ones that you are sure you can take care of properly are good for homes, Large pets, tigers, bears ect would be best in zoos.

It depends on the species. It also depends on what the home and zoo are like.

Well, it depends on what you mean by "pet". For a domestic dog or cat, a home is most suitable. They need to have a companion and a family, people who will spend time with them. Some working dogs do best on areas like farms where they can have a job to preform, Boarder Collies do great in this kind of environment. As for things like birds, they do well in homes or in places like zoos or outdoor aviaries but again, a lot of it depends on the species. Cockatoos, for example, are going to thrive with human interaction and do best when frequently socialized. As for other things such as frogs, toads, snakes, lizards, tarantulas, scorpions, etc. They do well in either environment as long as they're properly cared for and have the appropriate habitat for their species. When it comes to large, wild animals, like the ones we usually see in the zoo, they do best in zoos or rescue centers designed for wildlife. These animals being big cats, hoofed animals like gazels, antelope and giraffes, bears, elephants and primates (with the exception of humans). People who care for and raise these types of animals domestically are not doing that animal any favors. That's why wildlife rehab centers are ideal because they train the animal and raise it to be able to fend for itself and remain wild. Then, of course, you have your farm animals such as cows, pigs, chickens, goats and horses who truly do best on farms where they have plenty of room to develope and grow, as well as have the environment needed to have a normal lifestyle. There are people who have kept Potbelly Pigs for pets and this isn't the best idea because these animals need lots of room to get exercise and need to be outside where they can forage (sp?). Horses are also kept in small stables and boarded in areas that aren't ideal for a horse, leaving them with little opportunity to roam about and get exercise.
