I registered months ago to get tickets which I know that I probably won't get. They sell standing tickets at the gate. Is it a long wait in line, and how early should i get there. Also I will be there from Friday to Monday morning is there anything going on worth staying sunday night and what are some hot party spots during before the race, during and after, Im looking for excitment that consists of all ethnic groups(e.g. black/white etc.), as well as more so hip hop or jazz music clubs. And if we get in the race is there anything going on inside of than just the race. What is good for thirty yr old women from a big city.

It's not really "standing" tickets, it's tickets to "The Infield" where the action is anyway. The Infield is a blast!!!!! There are so many parties here Derby weekend, it's unreal. There are clubs all over. The biggest of which would be Fourth Street Live (which is basically a mall full of bars and night clubs). To get into the Infield, you should get in line the night before the race. What you have to understand is that Louisville is a big city also, we're the 16th biggest in the nation, so there is plenty to do. It's not a backwater here! Have fun!
