Jokes apart, luckily, we don't have to remember to breath, it is an involontary instinct that our lungs performs without our brain realizes. Otherwise half of the population on earth (those who would forget their head, was it not attached to their neck) would be in trouble.

Because you can't control your breathing fully. You will automatically try to breathe when you are not breathing

I've been asking myself the same question... as a young electronics technician I used to clean up PCB's that would leak out of capacitors and transformers with nothing more then a rag. Today they do it in special suites.

because when you forget to breath you pass out then your body breaths for you that is why you can't die from holding your breath!
