Maybe it is just me, but this is why I think people stare at me. I am an African American female.I don't believe I have any Indian ancestry in me or anything, but my skin is a wheatish color. It is not light, but it is not very dark either. I recently, went natural with my hair (no chemical relaxers) and instead of it growing out afro textured, it grew out wavy/frizzy. I have high cheekbones and my nose is kind of pointed. For some reason, everytime I go in stores are place women stare at me like I am crazy.

I have impeccable hygiene, dress nice (depending on if I am working out or not) I really don't know what it could be. It aggravates me when I walk in a store and all the cashiers (mostly female) turn around and stare at me. I quickly turn my head the other way and ignore them bc I think it is rude. It can't be that they know me, bc I am not from here, and the city is relatively large. Then again, I don't think that so many of them would look.

The stare that they give me is not at all friendly. They don't smile or anything, so I am like f u c k it. I don't have time to be friendly to you if you are going to look at me like that. One time, I was walking into a store and a lady was standing out side, and this woman was looking me right in the eyes. I turned away, and looked again and she still did it. I was about to say something, but then I was like is it really worth it?

Honestly, people simply have a tendency to stare at others who look different. Sad but true.

Yeah, I think you really are being a little over reactive about all of this. You are probably very attractive which is why people are looking at you all the time. I know I often have the same problem LOL, just kidding. But seriously, I am sure you are a beautiful woman. Seems like you are a little preoccupied with looks and a bit self-conscious, so just remember that you are a beautiful person.. those women are either just jealous or gay LOL.

You didn't say if you were tall or not? The reason I ask is that maybe they think you are a model. I would most certainly do a double take with features like that. You know how funny us women are. Say we go to a fancy play, concert whatever...
a great looking couple walks in. I defy any woman not admit that she really checks out the woman first. We all do it. I don't know why. Checking out the competition?
I just watched in happen in the grocery store the other day.
It was sooooo funny. Every checker in the place was looking at this one woman with big eyes.
So walk proud woman!! They are just trying to steal beauty ideas from you!

Most likely you attractive or exotic looking. Sorry to say, but some women will be intimidated or just flat out dislike you for it. You sound as if you may be youngish, so this might bother you. But you will get over it in time, and realize that people will like you for you or f*&ck 'em. You are right to just let it go, people are petty and it would take TOO much energy to confront everyone. By the way, I don't know if you know the comedian Katt Williams, but he is so funny. He said, don't worry about people hating on you. That is their job to hate. If all you haters out there don't have anyone to hate on right now, feel free to hate on me. (Guess he saying that you are doing something right if people take time out to talk about you or stare you down).

Wheat skinned people of African ancestry have sometimes striking resemblance to Arabs. Maybe people mistake you for an Arab. Indians have very good reputation in USA. You shouldn't be stared at if you are mistaken as an Indian. Another possibility is that people mistake you for a Pakistani (who have very bad reputation in USA; Pakistanis are much lighter or wheatish in colour compared to Indians).

I have a friend with that color skin - she is very pretty. I think people are looking at you because you are very attractive. You don't say where you live, but I assume its not New York becuase unless you walk around dressed as Elvis noone will look at you and even so you'd still be ignored! Be confident in what you are! Good Luck.

Your complaining about what you conceive as a problem of your appearance.
Doesn't that kinda infer you are your own problem.
You don't know those people as far as you know they may be blind and are looking straight forward. OR watching TV behind you.

You are beautiful and exotic. They are probably trying to figure out your ethnicity, which is not really such a negative or bad thing.
