It was going to be 'discovered' by someone sooner or later. Your question doesn't really make sense.

That's not a difficult question. If no one ever "discovered" America, I assume that Native people. would still have a larger pressence throught these continents, with their culture, their values. That is if there was never any contact with the rest of the world, which is what your question invokes. I think thius would be impossible to say what country would take its place, because would Native people actually make it a country? Would they have made contact with the rest of the world? That's whats impossible to know. However, think about it. Latinos are a mixture of African, European, and Native people. There wouldn't be any Latinos if not for the discovery of America. There wouldn't have been slavery in the Americas, therefore no African American culture, so no reggae, no hiphop, no Stop Lights (they were invented by an African American man). The world would be without so much. Although as a African and Native American person, I would not exist, I wonder how Africa as a continent would be, if so many hundreds of thousands of African people weren't removed from Africa for slavery. I think about the families that were divided, the communities devastated, when I think about the use of slavery as a way to support the building of America and the rest of the western hemisphere's economies. It's a good question you ask, but who knows how this world would look like, without the discovery of America.

If it had not been discovered, it would imply that the balance of power that existed hundreds of years ago might still exist. It would then be Great Britain. However, Britain maintained her superiority through the navy, and would have sent out explorers, so America would have been discovered. Also, the fact that America was discovered (from a European point of view any way) does not mean that it had to inevitably become a superpower. It could have been a very poor country today if some of its leaders had taken bad decisions and if historical chance had had it that way.

I'm prett sure it would have been discovered by now, however, if it had been discovered a lot later than it was, then would the Brits have populated it? Hmmm. The Red Indians may have changed and evolved on their own and stood their ground more, in which case it may just be a country populated mostly by Red Indians. It would be hard to imagine. I do think that Great Britain would be the main power still though perhaps, or if not then there wouldn't be a huge dominating power really, perhaps Russia, but we hope not.

This is the typical 'what if' question that every professional Historian (MA or PHD in history) has been taught and will teach you to avoid. Questions like: What if Hitler won the war? or What if Napolean wasn't defeated at Waterloo or What would have happened if the British captured John Adams and John Hancock? Are all meaningless.
These kind of questions can never be resolved and will only result in endless hours of useless speculation and very boring fiction.

America 'was' discovered. -period- End of debate! Everything else is pointless supposition, inuendo, and non sequiturs supporting non sequiturs.

The red indians would still be inhabiting the vast plains of what is now the united states. We wouldn't have potatoes, space venture, the hummer etc. By the way don't listen to that guy who said america stopped the overrunning of europe in the world wars 1st time we had it covered we would never have given in. 2nd russia saved us in round 2 don't forget the USSR just cause hey are communist and we were against them in cold war, america has done f*ck all for this world except start wars, invade countries increase obesity etc. they weren't even the 1st into space.

Well, the thing is, a land mass the size of the Americas would have eventually been discovered as transport technology advanced. If, however, it had not been known to Europeans until much after the time of Columbus, who knows? The hypothetical decisions of different rulers, different explorers, different people are impossible to guess.

If you mean as a dominant power, probably Great Brittain (England would retain the 'title'. If you mean what would happen to the Americas, the Vikings had established trade relations long before Columbus 'discovered' it. Also the trade alliance the Hiawatha was trying to establish between the various eastern tribes would have succeded if the pilgrims would have waited another generation.

If America hadnt been discovered... for sure the world would still not have been mapped , ergo presumably OZ and S America would still be unknown.
Thus the worlds seafaring status would be as in the 15C , we could not have any space technology [ or we'd see those lands]
We would not have potatoes for one thing , tortillas chillie et al would NOT be part of our daily fare .
Politically , America stopped Germany overrunning Europe in the first and second world wars , so maybe we'd alll be speaking German now ?
But life without chips ? [ not worth thinking about ]

Hi, I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "discovered" ?
Surely the "native Americans" were there first, from Far Eastern extraction, across the Bering Straights and all that, and fair play to them.
The Brits. poked their finger into the situation, but were shooed away.
Now we have "World peace keepers". according to Bush, Clinton & the likes.
What a joke.
I go to a "reservation" in Florida now & then, and hear of tales of western laziness in being late for the last two world wars, but being really punctual in terms of Korea, Vietnam, Kuwait, Iraq, Aphghanistan, and annoying some folks enough to blow up the centre.
Upon your dodgy head be it my friends.
Peace, love & harmony with all, please !

Struggle to rule the world never actually stopped. All that changes along with the passage of time is its face.
I personally never agreed to '' SUrvival of the fittest'' theory, but when it comes to ruling the world... yes it works then!!!
Today, America is considered to be the super power. In past it was not, neither shall it be in future... The game is onnnn, n u can never be sure of any one particular nation.
There was a time when people never thought of America ruling world. LIkewise, no one can today either predict tomorrow's rulers....
