Don't credit me for saying this, I'm getting it from a website... www.islamonline.net (you should go on it if you need help)!

All Muslims are required to love one another and to wish and inculcate love among people regardless of their color, race, religion, or identity. However, this does not mean dissolving our identity or blindly copying and imitating others' traditions and practices. Islam goes against celebrating Valentine's Day because commemorating that day is an innovation or bid`ah that has no religious backing, let alone the unlawful practices done during it that Muslims should not take part in.

i mean for me i think it is ko, unless it leads to something haram. like a husband can make it a special day for his wife. and maybe u can send cards, but only if u mean it, and there is going to be marraige between u and the receiver. u can send cards to friends as well. but judge it urself, if u think it will lead to something haram, or will lead somone to do something haram, so ull be better off withought it.
it is also not good to feel that it is a must or an obligation to celebrate it, because then it is calle d a bid3a. just do it if u feel its suitable and there is a point from it, and not just to make a girl fallin love with u then dump her, that my opinion.

but last but nt leat, i would say that if i were u , i would avoid it outside marriage because it encourages outside relationships that lead to noweher but haram.
im not a sheikh, this is only opinion, and please do not follow it if u dont know the proper fatwa. i dont wanna take any sins for what i just said if it is wrong.

It matters if you are very religous. I'm not Muslim, and i celebrate Valentines Day because its a fun day where everyone can proove their love for one another (although they can do that any time). It's also a wonderful excuse to be with your family!
