This is whats hilarious. I bet you aren't old enough to have seen more than this administration and possibly President Clinton's and yet you think you have all of American history summed up. Let me take you back to the wonder years of the Carter Administration.
Double digit unemployment
Double digit interest rates(no housing boom here and no one was in the stock market)
Runaway inflation
Gas rationing which was a result of the Middle East's absolute lack of respect for the US
The unanswered takeover of the US Embassy in Iraq
The "Misery Index"
And yet most of these much larger problems were eliminated during President Reagan's tenure. So first off I would take a long hard look at what you are terming a disaster and secondly learn some history so you have some perspective on what is really going on.

look around.......see all you see? enjoy it, cause you won't see it, have it, nor experience it in just 10 yrs.
forget bush, forget the wars, forget all the junk, we are dealing with Peak oil and are now on the downward slope.
oil makes everything you know.....TV, computer, blue jeans, cars, tires, wires, plates, milk jugs....EVERYTHING.
once oil gets less n less, the price is gonna go higher n high. so high that a gallon of milk will be $8, not for the milk, but the jug is what will cost so much.
we will be forced back to a society like we were in the early 1900's. small towns, each town survives on its own and makes all it needs within that town. like the Amish do for the most part.
many people, adults like myself, already see this coming and we are doing things to plan for it. some are already starting small towns within current towns. finding those that each have a skill.....as in...1 family does the cows, 1 does the sewing, 1 does the metal working, etc on down the line.
get on google or youtube and type in Mike Ruppert, Peak oil. he is about the best out there on the topic. his video 9/11 to peak oil and beyond is real good.
this 100 yr boom we saw all due to oil, is bout over.

It's not just Bush (and mind you, I'm no fan),but the people he chooses to have around him dealing out misinformed advise; Also, until THE WORLD, et al changes, I'm afraid the way things are going, unless we're invaded by another species from planets far, far away, it's just going to get worse; for me, first priority is protecting our own country first, pull out 80% of the troops, have the rest stay to help the present government/military get up to speed; there will always be conflict within certain groups...that's the nature of the beast!
