Lose the brackets and combine like terms:
3x+6+2x-11=180
5x-5=180
Add 5 from both sides:
5x=185
Divide 5 from both sides:
x=37
Check:
(3(37)+6)+(2(37)-11)=180
111+6+74-11=180
117+63=180
180=180
I hope this helps!

Since there is no mulplication involved, this is a simple bracket. This is nothing but 3x+6+2x-11=180.This can now be simplified to 5x+6-11=180 and further simplifying it finally stands as 5x-5=180. Take the '-5'to the other side, it becomes 5x=180+5 which is nothing but 5x=185 therefore x equals 185divided by 5 equals 37

3x + 6 + 2x - 11 = 180
5x + 5 = 180
5x = 180 + 5
5x = 185
x = 185/5
x = 37

(3x+6)+(2x-11)=180
first add the like terms on the LHS of the equation.
(3x+2x)+(6-11)=180
5x-5=180
take 5 common on the LHS
5(x-1)=180
take 5 to the RHS of the equation.
x-1=180/5
x-1=36
transfer 1 to the RHS of the equation.
x=36+1
x=37

remove the bbrackets
3x+6+2x-11=180
simplify (collect like terms)
5x-5=180
unknown to one side (left), numbers to the other (right) or in other words add 5 to both sides.
5x=185
divide both sides by 5
x=37

kempos is right. the other answer had a math error:
you had 5x+5 on one side, and it should be 5x-5 becuase you have 6-11, not 11-6. does that make sense?
