Kobe is talented...but he is on a team that is currently not made well enough to win in the playoffs...as for the one poster who mentioned Dr J and Lebron as being some of the greatest...you need to stop, If you ever watched him play (which I did, since he played with Ice for the Squires) you know Doc was very one dimentional, and only got spot up range later in his career...and never played defense well...otherwise he would have been able to lead the 6ers past that Trailblazer team that beat them four games in a row in the 77 finals using a three guard rotation...and as for James...its ridiculous to even mention a 3 year player with those other hall of famers...as for Kobe, he got exactly what he wanted, a team that he could run...he has buyoff from the coach and jacks it up whenever he gets ready...he is probably tired of passing the ball and them getting blown out because of the injuries and lack of player development...he will often have to take the shot because the rest of the team is not confident enough to make clutch shots a majority of the time when needed...and smush...please release that clown after this season...

Kobe is a baby, a bad human being and a very good basketball player. He is not great. Michael Jordan was great. Magic Johnson was great. They made the players around them better. Kobe makes them feel like an afterthought. Wilt was the best ever

No Kobe is not the greatest to ever play. Just look Magic,
Dr. J, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Bird, Jordan, Bill Russell, Lebron James, Oscar Robertson, and many more. He does deserve to be in the same group. He is the most important player on his team but not the best that ever played.

Wow first I want to say that Killing Kid is officially an idiot. Now that that's said. Kobe is right now carrying the slumping Lakers on his back, so he has to score 65. But if you look back on this season as a whole so far, his numbers speak for themselves. He's averaging less points than last year (29.2 down to 24.3), and his assists are up (4.5 to 5.6). Also he is taking less shots per game. So what that comes down to is he's making everybody around him better. He's kept them in the playoff hunt despite losing Lamar Odom, Luke Walton (who was having a career year), and other players to injury. Once everyone gets healthy and in the right mindset, he'll stop scoring 65.

Kobe is the best nba player to slap someone. just kidding.
Kobe scores so much because the lakers are built aroung him and all they do is pass to kobe every time down the floor.
If you look at his team mates in any of those games they have 10 - 20 point at the max because kobe scores all there points LA knows that kobe knows to get open because they'll give it to him every time.

i think Kobe critics need to stick their heads into their asses. What the hell does he have to do to prove it?he the greatest!!! 81 points? done it! Championships?done it! 3 of them at that! and dont give me the bull about shaq being the reason they won those champsionships. F*** shaq. He has no idea what is goin on when he is playing. Last season, Kobe breaks numerous lakers records. More than 30 40 point games last year!!!!!!! what does he ahve to do?make a halfcourt dunk? score 30 points in a min?i mean what has he NOT done to qualify himself as the greatest?and has any1 besides me realized that nash could be goin for 3rd straight mvp, which only legends have achieved. And what the hell has nash done?NOTHING. CHampionships?nope. and that is the main goal of the nba if you didnt know by now.
KB24 for life.

Iverson is another with a lousy shooting percentage. If anybody jacks the rock enough timnes, he will score a bunch of points. Kobe isn't that great overall, but as good as anyone to take the last shot.

As regards that you believe that Kobe isn't a GOOD player, you are very WRONG.!!!!
Kobe is one of the best players in history of NBA.He can score very easily, and he shoots from all the distances because he can and he knows it.Moreover he is a very confident player and this is an important advantage of him. And we can see his great confidence when he plays bball..

My question would be what were the other 4 members fo the team doing? Did they do anything but go for possible rebounds?
As a coach I wouldn't be comfortable that one player dominates the ball and the rest are just 'also played' players.
