If one is very interested in a job, is it okay to "follow up" more than ONCE on a resume you sent or an interview you were given? Would that be being a little to pestery about it? Should I just assume that if I hear nothing back after one follow-up that they are not interested?

I'd try one more time and give up after that. Some hiring managers are just not that organized, and filling a job ranks lower on their priority list than the 100 fires they are fighting on any give day.

If you don't hear after two follow-ups, it's probably a dead issues, and shame on the company for not giving you timely feedback on your applicant status.

I would mail a hand written thank you card to anyone who interviewed you. I think that if you don't hear anything back after one follow up, you can assume that they aren't interested. Most companies are professional about it and at least give you an answer but some of them tell you before hand that it is impossible to answer everyone because they get a flood of resumes and applications. No news is bad news in a job search IMO. Of course it never seemed to fail that once I already landed a job a few companies called me about my resume after the fact. The amount of time it takes to hear back varies so much.

I don't see the harm in following up once on a resume sent in either, even before you get an interview. It might be on someone's desk and maybe your phone call will show that you have initiative and will push it forward in the process a little. Good luck!

Sending a 'THANK YOU' card to the business for receiving your resume is O.K. Making one call after sending the card is O.k. At the most you can send one more card. 3x's should be the max. Going there is not o.k.

GOOD LUCK!!!
