Thoughts about my thesis sentence??

Thesis: The highly idealized concept of sex marketed by mainstream media contributes to the recent rise in sexually active teen-agers.

Is it debatable or should I go another route?

I was thinking about changing my thesis to parental consent laws leading to increase in pregnancies.

I would go with the second one . Because the first one has been debated to death there have been so many papers written on the subject what ever you write is going to sound like you are using someone else's research coming up with an original sentence would be hard . The parental consent laws are newer so you may be able to come up with a paper that is original and shed light on the subject ! Good luck !
