in the R&S section you will find questions ranging from the ridiculous to the serious. All subjects are acceptable. The average age of those who participate is between 18-45. There are some who are 45-60 age group but they are not the ruling majority. The questions that are asked and designed to provoke or challenge the answers (which appears to be real) run somewhere in the 25 percent range. This first group seems to be asking to convert or learn something. Those who are asking to be entertained or motivate angry response runs in the 50 percent range. It is about the last 25 percent group that my question is being asked here. This group seems to be highly educated, professionals, and balanced in their views of life. Yet, they are the ones I least understand why they are there. Some are gays who seem to have unresolved issues regarding unacceptance from religion, while others seem to be evolutionist who like to try and convert or challenge creationist....see additional info

while some just like to butt heads with those they consider beneath them. What woud drive them to get involved or participate? Is this a passive agressive behavior being displayed in a safe zone to release unresolved issues in their lives? Or something more?

I really don't think that age and level of education has too much to do with it. (BTW, I've seen people as old as 86, and as young as nine here) Nor do I believe that sexual orientation or life's balance has much to do with it. The only ways in which these things may come into the picture is in the rebellious, fighting spirit that some users' come here with.

Some people are truly what they believe to be religious, and regardless of their age, education or preferences in life will stick up for what they believe in. The same is true of those who are non-believers--they, too, will fight people who try to tell them what is right and wrong.

I'm not saying that some people of either pursuasion will not come on here with the intention of starting a battle - who really have little concern for either side. Those are the people who concern me. Getting one to think, and starting a war are two different things.

Some people like to be challenged.
Some people like to aggravate others as a source of amusement. Why, who knows. Perhaps they all have unresolved issues. That seems to me the only real reason people are mean to others; their insecurity.
