I have been married for 1.5 years, and I want out. For some reason I feel bad about it. The reason I want a divorce is because he refuses to work and hasn't worked in 1.5 years. He is not responsible. He has a daughter who lives in So. Cal., (we live in Nor. Cal), and he hasn't seen her in over 1 year. He was abusive to me both physically and emotionally. However he hasn't been in over 1 year. Although, I do believe he is verbally abusive to me now.

Should I throw his *** out? Should I give him notice? How much? Should I feel bad?

SWEETIE, YOU NEED TO THINK OF YOURSELF NOT HIS FEELINGS. I THINK YOU FEEL BAD BECAUSE MARRIAGE IS SACRED AND DEEP IN YOUR HEART YOU PROBABLY FEEL LIKE YOU FAILED. BUT IT'S NOT YOU! HE DOESN'T WORK, DOESN'T SEE HIS CHILD AND CAN BE ABUSIVE TO YOU. LOOK AT ALL THAT, IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?? YOU KNOW LIFE IS TO SHORT HUN, WHY WASTE YOUR TIME WHEN YOU CAN BE HAPPY AGAIN. I'M SURE YOU ARE VERY UNHAPPY AND DOES HE SHOW HE CARES, I DON'T REALLY THINK SO.. BEING VERBALLY ABUSIVE CAN BE JUST AS BAD AS PHYSICALLY ABUSIVE! I'VE BEEN THERE. DON'T FEEL BAD, I WOULD DEFINITELY BRING IT UP, THAT THIS MARRIAGE ISN'T WHAT YOU WANT. IF YOUR AFRAID, HAVE SOMEONE THERE WHEN YOU TELL HIM SO YOU WILL HAVE SOME SUPPORT. DO WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU HUN. I WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK.. BE SMART AND DO THE RIGHT THING TO MAKE YOU HAPPY. KATHY

Kick that loser to the curb and find a real man. Hun if he has no responsibility when it comes to his own child, what the hell would make you think that if you had a child together he would be there? Hes a child and kick him out... You deserve better than that. You only feel bad because you love him, but give him the tough love and kick him out till he grows up and becomes a real man

The best time to dump him was when he hit you. The next best time is now. Obviously you thought you would give it another chance and see if it improved. Well he hasn't hit you in the last year but it also has not improved. Ask yourself if you see ANY reason to believe it will. Then pack a bag.

You have no children with him, and it sounds like he isn't the kind of man you would want to begin a family with anyway. Get the divorce if you want, you have the right and you do deserve better. Don't feel bad about this, it sounds like he doesn't feel bad about making your life miserable. Take care.

Girlfriend, you have to be strong. I understand that no one wants to marry just to divorce but you have to decide what's best for you. He will not change and I think you already know that. Unfortunately, he has to learn the hard way. I know it will be hard, but you can do it. Set yourself free....you deserve it. You don't need the burden any longer.

Either you move out or call the police and have him escorted out--immediately. He's not well and you need to be around someone who's healthy.
