I am the sole male earning member. I have paid for the mediclaim insurance premiums for retired in-laws as well as parents, in 2 separate policies. Am I eligible for deductions under Section 80D on both policies, or only on the premium paid for my parents?

Section 80D is applicable if the premium is taken on the health of the of the taxpayer,
on the health of spouse,
dependent parents or
dependent children of the taxpayer.

Tax law does not admit any other relatives except above in this section, hence premium paid on the health of the persons other than above will not fetch you any deduction.

Premium paid towards your parents is eligible for deduction.

According to Section 80D of IT Act tells the following

To get deduction u/s 80D, one has to satisfy the following conditions.
1. The taxpayer is an individual (may be resident/non resident or indian citizen / foreign citizen) or Hindu undivided family (may be resident or non resident)

2.Insurance premium is paid by the taxpayer in accordance with the scheme framed in this behalf by the General insurance Corporation of India and approved by the Central Govt. The scheme is known as MEDICLAIM insurance policy. The amount deposited in a similar scheme of any other insurer who is approved by the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority {IRDA}also be eligible for deduction.

3.The aforesaid premium is paid by cheque {may be bearer, crossed or account payee cheque}

4. It is paid out of income chargable to tax.

Mediclaim policy is taken on the health of the following persons

For Individual Assessee-----
on the health of the of the taxpayer,
on the health of spouse,
dependent parents or
dependent children of the taxpayer

For HUF Assessee-----
On the health of any member of the family

Amount of deduction
If all the aforesaid conditions are satisfied, then
the insurance premium paid OR
Rs 10,000/-
whichever is lower, is deductible.

The aforesaid limit has been increased to Rs 15,000/- where the assessee or his wife or her husband or dependant parents or any member of the family is a senior citizen (i.e one who is resident and at least of 65 years of age at any time during the previous year) and the medical insurance premium is paid to effect or keep in force an insurance in relation to him or her.In order to get a deduction in excess of Rs10,000/-, one has to pay mediclaim insurance premium to effect or keep in force insurance in relation to a senior citizen as noted above.
