The real easy way it to treat your tank for ick, most of these medications will kill any invertebrate in the tank so if you have any other snails that you want to keep remove them first.
The easy way is to get a weekend feeder cube and put it in a plastic cup at the bottom of your tank, snails love these things and when they gather on it to feed simply remove the cup throw away the cube and start again until the snails are gone. This way is also a lot more friendly to your fish. (This also works with a piece of lettuce.)
OR you can get 1 Gold fish. snails are a natural part of their diet, and 1 can clean the tank of snails in about a week.

First off, yes clown loachs will eat snails, however they are somewhat delicate and will eventualy grow quite large (6"+ easily if well cared for) The best fish i have found for snails in the skunk botia, quite common, easy to care for and stays small (about 1" -1 1/2")
Second, NEVER remove everything from your tank and put chemicals in it. This will most likely result in fish loss, bioligical imbalance and any number of other problems.
From my experience the natural way is the best way.
For yout tank i would suggest 2-3 of them, and after the snails are gone (probably take no more than a week) they are a nice active fish that will eat almost any food.

Once u get a snail it is hard to get rid of them because they could already be getting ready to have babies when you get them from the store........ If they are completely taking over your tank you can put your fish into another one and the snails into a smaller 1!!! Sucker fish can help get rid of algae along the sides of a tank i hope this helps!!! I think also they make snail killer but i not 100% sure

The best trick I've learned in my days is putting a piece of lettuce fixed in the tank. After about a day or two all of your snails will be on it eating it. And you should be able to remove the lettuce w/all the snails on it.
Or
You can purchase any of the loaches or botias, they will take care of the snails for you.

positioned some lettuce (a small piece ) in the tank at nighttime time and in the morning there sould be snails in this lettuce. There in all probability some persons that have fish that consume snails which you in basic terms might supply them to. Or once you have have been given countless room you may positioned a small loach in the tank to consume the snails on your. even confirm to no longer overfeed, it quite is one technique to appreciably strengthen their numbers is that in case you overfeed your tank. and make certain that as quickly as you do your known water transformations yo syphon the backside so as which you choose on up the left over meals and starve the snails.

first of all, a snail infestation usually is intensified by overfeeding, so try cutting down on your feeding schedule and they shouldn't want to breed as much as they are.
in my humble opinion, do NOT take everything out and clean your tank, etc. this is such a frustrating thing to have to do and i've never known someone to be able to clean all of an infestation out of a tank - you'll always miss some! i even went the route of dipping everything i had in bleach and ended up killing some of my plants and still finding snails!!
anyway, put a lettuce leaf or a bunch of blanched zuccini (2 min in boiling water or 30 seconds in the microwave with a moist paper towel to make it kinda soft and sink to the bottom) on a plate/dish in your tank overnight. in the morning it should be swarming with little snails. voila! easy snail removal. repeat this process at night until no more snails appear.
to be honest, you'll probably never catch all of them, but as long as there isn't too much food lying around they shouldn't try to breed out of control. if you start seeing too many again, just start the lettuce traps again.
good luck!
i feel your pain.

We have a 55 and yep we got snails with live plants. The algea eater will eat them if you smash them on the side of the tank. eventually we have none. Of course repeated emptying, cleaning and refilling will help too.

Clown loach. Eats snails and is very passive. Just make sure it has a good decoration to hide under because they're shy.

You can buy snail killer from your local pet store. That sorts out the buggers and it also doesn't harm the fish!
