Have you seen a doctor to check it up? If not have him check for strep and prescribe antibiotics. Homeopathic medicine's are still in need of approval in mainstream medicine.

Not sure if this will help but I a hot lemon and honey tea to drink throughout the day and I gargle whiskey. The tea is good for raw throats and the whiskey to kill germs, numb and get rid of at least some of the flem.
Here's my Lemon Tea (I've never gotten a recipe):
1/2 Lemon
1 Tablespoon Honey
Sugar to taste (I use about 4 teaspoons when I'm sick)
Tea bag and hot water obviously
- Melt everything in a cup of hot water then use the teabag and make it into a weak tea. You could proberbly also ad whiskey or brandy to it as well.
Also I would definately go see the Dr if I was you. I had tonsilitis earlier in the year that got so bad that I had to go up to the hospital. If I got antibiotics in the first place it would have been gone in a few days. Its better to jump on things before they get too bad and set in.
P.S. I have to disagree with one of the other answers, since when is a cold a lack of vitamin C? Vitamin C helps your immune system to fight against infections and colds are infections. A lack of vitamin c doesn't mean you automatically have a cold.

Strepsils Lozengies can help you. You can rinse in your mouth one every 2-3 hours but not more than 12 a day.
Avoid ingesting any with extreme temperature. Too hot and too cold liquids can make worse. Avoid spicy food also.
You can add up minor pain killers, out of which you can use Tylenol 500 mg every six hours.
Vitamin C 25 mg three times a day can be added to fight cold.
Gargling with warm table salt water will be helpful only if you are not a high blood person but not to be too much concentrated because salt can act as an antiseptic and also it has a minor corrosive effect on the soft tissues.
Keep youself warm and avoid cold shower. Can take warm short shower. Avoid windy areas. Change wet clothes whenever there is.
Avoid smoking as much as you can. Better stop smoking.
Since it's one symtom of cold, you should have enough rest to build up your immunity.
If you suffer a lot or if it doesn't calm down in few hours you should consult with your family doctor that he might add up antibiotics, if he thinks need to prevent secondary bacterial infection, the usual one may be the Augmentin.
Serratiopeptidase 5 mg three times can reduce the size if your tonsils are enlarged. Your doctor will decide these.

Gargling with salt water is number one. Use 1/2 teaspoon to a cup of water. Other than that, avoid coffee/tea/pop as they irritate the throat. Drink hot/warm water with honey and a bit of lemon. Dry air will add to a sore throat so run a humidifier or boil water on the stove to get more moisture in the air. After a shower, stay in the bathroom for a while with the door closed to give you more time to breath the moist air. Bad weather will not give you an infection. They only way to acquire an infection is by being exposed to it.

My mom used to recommend gargling with warm salt water every 30 minutes or so. Just put a few tablespoons of plain old salt in a small glass of warm water and gargle for a minute or so. (Spit it out obviously!)
I have no idea what the principle behind this is, but it always worked for me as a kid. Hope you feel better soon!

Gargle salt water.
Infectious organisms tend to gather in the rear of the mouth/tongue. Since salt is a known antidote for infections, by gargling salt water you are cleansing your throat of these organisms. It works !!!

If there are no pustules on the throat, proceed with an "at home"
remedy... get zinc lozenges (you suck on them slowly) at the health food store. Antibiotiocs are wayyy overused and do not address colds and symptoms anyway.

lemon with hot water: lemon tea. drink lots of it. after one cup get another one; drown in it. trust me, that's how to treat a sore throat...a cold is obviously a lack of vitamins, essentially vitamin C. and no sugar or it will be pointless and a waste. sugar is terrible for your body....hope u get well :- )
