Sweetie, you must remember everything is good in moderation.Dont over do it,which is what i believe you are doing.Use sweets as a reward for weight loss.Chocolate,on the other hand is actually good for you.Dark or bittersweet chocolate has anti-oxidants in it.You just need to remember that everything is ok,but do not allow yourself to over do it.Have self discipline. Also, you must first learn to embrace yourself. There are some who have full figures, that is okay.It does NOT mean you are fat.You could be one of those who is full figured, however more than likely you will not find out until you are a bit older and begin to get your curves.Embrace yourself, you are nearly 12 years of age.You should not be worrying about your weight, you should be worrying about what you are going to wear to school tomorrow! This is why it is so important, not to push the "Stick thin" issue. As it is what leads to anorexia and bulimia. Please, dont worry about weight.Allow yourself to be a kid,and dont waste that time worrying about your weight.Once this time is gone,it doesnt come back.Life is too short,to be worrying about what we all look like.If it will make you feel healthier maybe get a gym membership,or do a jazzersize class.Make it fun,but dont make it strictly about being a certain size.Good luck hun,and have a good day! Embrace yourself, and your size. You are beautiful and it doesnt matter what others think of you.Look inside of you,and forget what they say.

I'm a guy, 15 years old, 5'7", and weigh a little under 120lbs. The key to not being overweight is to not eat. I know it sounds stupid, but i'm serious. I eat a bowl of cereal in the morning, skip lunch at school, and eat a normal dinner. Every once and awhile i eat a snack between when i come home from school and dinner. And i hardly ever eat dessert. What is really important is that you stop eating before you feel full. The brain takes somewhere around 10 minutes to tell you that you're full. You can start by stopping as soon as you feel full. Then you will know your body and understand how much you can eat and you can stop before you have that feeling. There's a term in Japanese, it's called 'betsubada'. It means something along the lines of 'second stomach'. When you eat a meal and you're like "oh my god i'm so full i can't eat another bite." But then you see a dessert that you love, point at it and say 'betsubada'. this is something you have to have the will to train yourself to resist. When you feel full, stop eating. And also, with this strategy, you can still eat the foods you enjoy eating, you just have to eat the RIGHT AMOUNT. The problem with most people is they think that these 'slim fast' and health bar diets will help you lose weight. But they don't fill them up and they just keep eating them till they're full. And they wonder why they don't work. This has been working for me for 5 years or so, i hated being chubby, so i stopped eating junk food and sweets. Have you ever heard of the 3 day hump? When people try to stop smoking, there's a period of 3 days that you have to get over. If you can make it past those 3 days without smoking you'll be able to quit. Same with sweets, it may be more than 3 days, but if you can just resist the urge for a few days or maybe a week? you'll grow used to not eating sweets as often as you do now. This IS a quick way, and it WILL work if you have the will to go through it. Finish the last boxes of chocolates and sweets you have in your house now and vow that you won't buy anymore after them. When you crave some sweets, just say " i'll hold off till tomorrow" It also saves you a ton of money on products like 'slim fast' that i mentioned. Don't say you can't because you're "addicted" try to say that to people who used to smoke, and people who used to be alcoholics or did cocaine for example.

I'm not sure what 120 is, but anyway. All quick ways of losing weight are bad for you. The best, most healthy way to lose weight is simple. Eat less and more healthily, and exercise more.
Healthy food doesn't have to taste bad. There are so many nice things that I'm sure you will end up liking more than sweets and chocolate. Most sweets are fruit flavoured, so why not eat real fruit instead? And there are cereal and oat bars that you can use to substitute chocolate bars with. Some of them are very nice.
Exercise can be anything you enjoy. It doesn't have to be slaving away for hours at the gym or running a marathon! Swimming and cycling are two more fun things to do. Or how about taking up a new sport.
Good luck!

You are really young to be so concerned with your weight, and that worries me a bit.
Basically you need to develop good eating habits, and now is the time to start. You will loose weight when you burn more calories than you take in. Try to avoid the sweets and eat sensible meals, then do some exercise and you will see the weight melt off, but don't get carried away. Nichole Richie looks sick not hot, and every woman needs a little fat on their bones for proper menstrual cycles and whatnot.
I guess the best advice I can give is that all of the commercials for diet pills that make you skinny overnight are jokes. Don't fall for diet fads that will do nothing but make you sick and put you into a hospital
Good Luck, and remember that feeling good about yourself the way you are will be the best reward you can ever achieve

Obviously cut down on the amount of chocolate and sweets you eat, instead of snacking on Junk Food, eat your favorite fruits. Also, get some exercise by playing your favorite sport or going for a walk. But at your age you shouldnt be worried about your weight, once you are finished puberty you will lose puppy fat anyway.
Can I suggest that you also ask this question under the 'Diet and Fitness' catagory because most people on here specialise on 'Parenting and Adolescence'.

If you love chocolate then try exercises. I LOVE my food and decided that if i couldnt stop eating i would have to burn the calories off. I joined a gym but something like a good walk or swimming is just as good. Maybe you could join a local class, finding something you enjoy is the key to keeping it up. At 11 you are still growing so dont starve yourself, keep enjoying treats but make sure you eat a healthy balanced diet as well. Good luck x

Ok, I'm 12, but when I was 10-11 my weight was usually around where you are now. You are probably fine, but what I did was do 30 crunches each day and interlock hands infront of me, lock feet in the ground and begin to turn left-right left-right etc. this really taskes the fat from your waist.

first....eat healthy (watch fried foods, soda, mayo, and sweets)
get some exercise find a buddy to exercise with. drink 8-10 glassed of water a day.. it can be flavored water (just watch for aspartame). its more of a lifestyle change than a diet. if you have a friend to help support you that is great.
if you consider it a lifestyle change and not a diet it is a lot easier...also treat yourself to something sweet once a week...
don't go overboard (maybe a frozen yogurt or a 3 musketeer bar) good luck

you don't say how tall you are and height helps determine correct weight. you're also young enough that you might lose the weight without doing anything. eat right and get exercise. limit your sweets. tell yourself you'll only have one a day. but really, don't worry about it yet.
