For my 14th birthday:
-20 people (guys and girls)
- Bowling (costing £105 altogether)

I want to do something else, im trying to be nice to my mum and not spend too much!
I want to be able to lounge somewhere and chat but not at my house cause my dad would kill me, if i brought unhealthy snacks, where would be be able to lounge and have laughs for free? I live in edinburgh btw, it doesn't have to be anywhere in Edinburgh, just ideas!

if your dads a bit strict and a killjoy as my father used to be when i lived at home, (!) then either get your mum to work on him, or ask one of your mates with more chilled parents whether they could host the BBQ/dvd&junk food/sleepover at theirs? maybe go there after the bowling, either just for the lounging about and unhealthy eating bit, or for all night.
i'm sure your mum would rather be hosting party tho, so if you mention you know of a friend who's willing to host it, that may make her have words with your dad to ensure your night isnt spoilt by his fussiness!!
i dont like my teens eating junk, but there are occasions when thats acceptable, such as birthday parties!
my hubby cant cope with "girlie" nights, but i stick to my guns an dtell him to let them get on with it! once my toddler i sasleep they gotta respect that, and also not wake me up once i'm in bed. apart form that they are very welcome to sleep over at my daughters' parties.
good luck!
