My guinea pig is pregnant, we think. She is having trouble using her back legs and can hardly move a few inches.

This is very common after 50 days, as the pups are born fully furred, and very large, so the mum becomes very large too. You can tell if she is pregnant by sitting her on your lap, waiting until she settles down, and cupping your hands around her tummy. if she is then you will feel the pups kicking. As long as she is still eating and drinking fine then she is ok. if she gets past 75 days without any pups then you should take her to a vet.

I have never had to deal with a pregnant guinea pig but where they are soooo close to they ground any way then i would say that she should be having some difficulties walking but if you are not totally convinced please feel free to take her to the vet for a checkup it can't hurt!!! Hope this helps!! tell the mom i say hi and good luck!!

I would think it is common. But you need to find out for sure. A pregnant guinea pig, and the poor thing is already small. I would imagine it is hard to do.

my guinea pig delivered 2 babies this morning and she is quite young. but she hasn't had any issues with hind legs. I would advise u to consult a vet. you could also try posting at www.Cavymadness.com and www.guinealynx.com
