Your question depends on wether you are asking who my favorite is as a point guard, as an entertainer(which basketball is meant to be,) or as a player. Let's get this straight. As a point guard, I would definitely choose Stockton. He is the purest point guard to ever play the game. He has great court vision and he is a great defender, too. Not to mention, he currently holds the record for most total assists and steals in a career. Now, as an entertainer, "Magic" is my choice. He brought the crowd up to their feet and he tried as much as possible to keep the audience tuned in to the game. He had great charisma and he was a very lovable person. As a player, I will pick Oscar Robertson. He had all the fundamentals and he played the game to win. He is also very consistent in the basketball court, he never lost focus. He is also the lone player to average a triple-double in a season. Well, those are the picks.
P.S. My personal favorite of the three is Johnson. Everybody loves an entertainer.

Without a doubt the Big O. Magic was a poon hound who was lucky to play with nothing but stellar all star players. Magic really was more flash and style than he was substance. I also can't respect any idiot who has unprotected sex with six. . yes (6) skanky hoochie mamma basketball groupies at the same time! You are an IDIOT magic. . . . John stockton was a crybaby wimp who got away with murder. . . a great player but a crybaby player none the less. . . also a dirty player who liked to step under other players legs when they were in the air. . . . he was just like an annoying dirty Duke player. The Big O was the best of the bunch. . . better team player. . . better defender. . . .and a better person off the court!

Oscar Robertson, he averaged a triple double for a full season and if he had played as long as Magic and Stockton he would have stats that would never be attained!!!!

by ability of 'real' I carry at the same time you recommend bypass first aspect guards, that are uncommon, particularly those days. i'd believe Stockton and Cousy, and that i'd also upload to that list Jason Kidd, Magic, Steve Nash and Maurice Cheeks.

I love all three but I got to go with Magic if for no other reason but the fact that he's from Michigan. All of them though were three of the best guards in NBA history.
