In your opinion what were the best PPVs of 2006?
My favourite three in order were;

Wrestlemania 22 - Great PPV, The no holds barred match between HBK and Vince, the hardcore match between foley and edge, and the MITB ladder match were the highlights.

Unforgiven - This was a great show. I loved the way the trish match ended, the steel cage between DX and Mchmons and Show, and the TLC match between Edge and Cena was brilliant.

ECW one night stand - this show was great the crowd were well into it, the RVD v Cena match was good to watch, the hardcore tag match, and the Angle Orton match were good. I thought after this show the New ECW was gonna be awesome... not to be!

I also thought Armageddon was a good PPV

One of the better WWE PPVs of 2006, Unforgiven brought us the climax of the storyline that was voted “Best Feud” in our year end awards last December (click here to refresh your memory of the results!). John Cena vs Edge headlined Unforgiven, “upping the ante” in a Tables, Ladders and Chairs match that ended with an amazing “FU” from Cena to Edge off the top of a ladder and through two tables. It was one of the best WWE matches of 2006, and definitely the best match on this show.

The other big deal (at least in my opinion) at Unforgiven was the departure from WWE of Trish Stratus, who won the Women’s title (vs Lita) on the show in her final match, before soon vacating the title. I loved this match at the time, and watching the crowd go nuts for Trish as she locked in the Sharpshooter (the show was in Toronto, Canada and this was a homecoming of sorts for Trish) and got the win is well worth watching again. WWE’s women’s division has suffered ever since this night.

Unforgiven also saw WWE’s first tease of The Hardy Boyz being reunited, with Matt showing up backstage (this was a RAW brand PPV remember) and being shown on camera talking to Jeff, who had lost the night’s opening match with Johnny Nitro. The Nitro-Hardy match on this show was solid, and they were given close to twenty minutes to do their thing. Compared to more recent encounters, the match wasn’t the best, but signs were already there that these guys had chemistry. If Jeff can stay healthy and focused, both he and Nitro can be money makers for WWE for a long, long time.

Elsewhere on the card, DX’s feud with the McMahons was (thankfully) showing signs of drawing to a close, and its amazing to see just how much the DX gimmick has shifted in recent months. Back in September, we had nothing but cock “jokes", and I hated everything that involved DX. After they dumped the supposed humour, and took things a little more seriously, people could at least tolerate the DX push. This “Hell in a Cell” match, which also featured The Big Show, was far from being a HIAC classic, but certainly wasn’t the worst thing on the card (an honour saved for the Spirit Squad vs Highlanders match).

Elsewhere on the card, Carlito and Randy Orton had a pretty dull, bland, boring match, that did nothing to help two characters in dire need of help if they’re ever going to be seen as legitimate stars or main eventers, while Kane vs Umaga had a fun brawl.
