Definitely from the left. He tried to offer the olive branch since the very beginning and they did nothing but bite it. I would get so mad at him for continuing to offer the olive branch. Then when he sees he will get no cooperation OR alternative plans from them they whine about that. The left is the enemy of the US. Too bad too many are too ignorant to see it.

Believe it or not, neither of them.
I've noticed that ever since the "Reagan Democrat" era faded sometime in his second term, the country has slowly polarized. At first, it was simply respectful but firm opposition to the other side with little interest in budging. This continued under Bush Sr., although the country united in defeating Iraq when they invaded the sovereign nation of Kuwait without just cause.
Then under Clinton, things just escalated. The Republicans generally hate Clinton the way the Democrats hate W. Bush. Honestly, I'd say since sometime around 1994-1996, the country has been polarized to the point of hostility.
I wonder if the Internet had anything to do with that, now that anyone can get a blog and throw up opinions of any type and gather an audience?

Primarily it comes from the George Soros extreme left wing of the Democratic party, the ACLU, and the major news media. They influence the people that do not pay enough attention to politics and are too quick to jump on the side of the ones that they believe instead of giving the claims of both sides some thought and research and approaching each question using some rationalization.

Bush and his crappy policies. He's a divider, not a uniter and to the person who said he offered an olive branch to the left, bullshit. Most of the country including democrats were with him after 911. His approvate rating was through the roof. He lost that support through his own failed policies.
Chavez was elected by the way. All the foreign polling companies had him winning.
---------------------
About 59 percent of likely voters said they would vote for Chavez for a third term, while 27 percent said they would support opposition candidate Manuel Rosales. Thirteen percent of those surveyed by the polling firm Ipsos for The Associated Press said they were undecided or wouldn't answer.

The survey by Zogby International found 59 percent support Chavez, compared to 24 percent for the opposition's top candidate, Manuel Rosales. The results released Monday paint a bleaker picture for Rosales than some other recent polls released by Venezuelan firms, though surveys have consistently shown Chavez with a significant lead

A lot of us think that it began with Gingrich's Republican congress and his Contract On America.
That's when civility left the political scene.
The level of politics continued to slip under the increasing influence of Karl Rove and his minions.
Fox "News" does little to help things as it's woefully biased and its talking heads cannot civilly disagree with anyone.

The left. GW has compromised and tried to enlist these people from day one and they have slandered and impeded any progress that could be made for no other reason than political gain.
