How far along should a mom be before you throw a baby shower?

The typical baby shower is usually thrown between 2-3 months before baby is due. I would say 2 months before would be the best. :)

Make sure youre not one month pregnant trying to plan a babyshower for the next day. I would say 7 or 8 months pregnant is a nice time to have a baby shower and buy clothes that are not 0-3 months but 3-6 months.babies grow.

It all depends. Some women don't have them at all. Some have them AFTER baby is born, and if you've already had one for your first child, people aren't as likely to throw you another one.
Whenever the timing works out best for all involved is best I guess. Before the 2nd trimester probably wouldn't be advised as almost 50% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, you don't want to have a shower and then miscarry. Probably sometime AFTER the 24th week, once the baby is viable outside the womb. Hope this helps! :-)

An Old Wive's Tale says to wait until AFTER the 6 month mark. This YOUNG wife says to wait until you know the sex of the child you carry. Definitely check out the baby registries at www.target.com They have such adorable items for your baby, and it takes the guess work out of what your shower guests should purchase for your little one. My new baby has a classic pooh nursery that is absolutely ADORABLE!!!! Target also carries Amy Coe, amongst other famous maker brands. You can also make it a themed shower...........OH I JUST CAN'T STOP!!!! Email me already and I'll give you the cutest game ideas too!

I would also say 7-8 months. You probably don't want to do it too early but you don't want to do it too late either.... The baby could make a surprise appearance:-)
Some people decide to wait until after the baby is born but I haven't known many people to plan them after the baby's birth.
Good Luck!!!!

OUR FAMILY AND MOST OF OUR FRIENDS DO IT EARLY IN THE PREGNANCY. IT IS EASIER FOR MOMMY TO BE. AND THEN YOU HAVE TIME TO GET THE NURSERY TOGETHER ALSO. YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW TO DO A GIFT REGISTRY. IF NOT THEN TAKE IT AS ADVISE. CONGRATS!!
