Actually, it is presentation stuff and in English, we study different topics, related to social class, cultures, and global issues...
I just hope to find web-links for web sites related to poverty in a specific country called "Yemen" I do not know where this country is but I guess our teacher mentioned it is in Asia....
we asked the reason to talk about poverty in ' Yemen' she just said that as IBO "International Baccalaureate" students we should know about other cultures and I guess that was the main reason my parent enrolled me in this school……….please help and thanks either ways

This is a link to the Republic of Yemen's "Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper" (.pdf) that contains Yemen government's statistics, reasons for current poverty conditions, and reduction strategies. The paper may seem lengthy, but open the Bookmarks tab (typically on the left side of the screen) and an index has been provided for easy access to relevant portions. Some of the other references that were provided to you by others have maps which can be copied to your computer by right clicking on the picture and clicking "Save Picture As" to save to your computer for insertion in a report - for instance in PowerPoint. I personally prefer to right click and copy a picture from the internet and then paste the picture into a Word document. Your class and this assignment sound exciting; have fun with the presentation. & don't forget to bowl them over with visuals and handouts!

Basic UN data on poverty in Yemen: http://earthtrends.wri.org/povlinks/country/yemen.php

Accordiing to the CIA World Handbook, Yemen's economy is one of the poorest of all the Arab countries. An article that provides an overview of the economy of Yemen is at Wikipedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_Yemen

With these two sources as your base, you can find links to various international sources on Yemen's economy on the following web-page: http://www.al-bab.com/yemen/econ/econ.htm and can go into as much detail as you decide is necessary for your presentation.

PS: After completing the above, I checked the other answers. Take a look at the map. Yemen isn't anywhere near Jordan; it is right at the tip of the Arabian peninsula, Jordan is north of the Arabian peninsula, pretty dry, but immediately south of the "fertile crescent" (Syria, Lebanon, etc.). An important distinction in the Middle East was made by a British traveller and administrator in the early 20th century, Gertrude Bell, who divided the region into "the desert and the sown" (generally Arabia south versus the cultivated drylands, in the North). Yemen is mainly (but not completely) desert and rocky uplands.

Its in the middle east. Its a muslim place. Yemen is in the middle east near Jordan. Why write about that place, there is nothing worth writing about out there.

Best of luck anyways
