Probably because she helps empower too many women and the men cannot handle strong women.

I think that the operative word here is "seem." We must ask where we got the impression that "so many men" (How many is that?) hate Oprah. I'm a man, and I don't hate Oprah. I'm sure she's a wonderful human being who does lots of loving things for lots of people.

I would like to meet her. I'm told that she's a delightful person.

I do not hate Oprah, but I am not fond of her show. I find her a bit too preachy and overbearing. I am not much of a talk show fan anyway, but hers is more annoying somehow then most. I find the emotional output a bit overdone and Oprah tends to be a little on the self-glorifying side.

So many men hate the Oprah Winfrey show I don't believe that they hate Oprah the person. That show and shows like hers give women a false sense of power. The belittle and disrespect decent hard working men for being men. The shows and show like hers such as the view are very disrespectful to men. They do not value men and their contributions to their families and the sacrifices they make for their families. White women don't appreciate their husbands on the show or shows like hers. It really is a bitching session to me of what women don't have and think that they should have. They are turning the men into women de-masculizing them (I made that word up) to prove a point. Soon you will only be left with bi- and homosexuals. Men are trying to be more like women and women are trying to be more like men. To me it is sickening. I hate the show and all of the women shows like hers. These shows tell you that you need a break from being a mom, from being a wife, from being a woman. The roles they teach women are really sad. There is no such women that can be the corporate women, the happy homewmaker, the vixen in the bedroom and everything else. You just can't do it. Then they blame the men for not being supportive or some other bullcrap resoponsibility they did not even know they had. That is exactly why you see a rise in drug use, crime, homosexuality and no you are not born that way it is a concious choice that you make I have a couple of friends who tried it and it did not work out. They were both from the man haters club. They forgot to say that the men the were having a relationship with was married from the begging but he did them so wrong. No, you chose to have a dead end relationship (but somehow now that is the man's fault). Now their children are all screwed up because no one is raising the children. They turn out to be screwed up adults and wreak havoc on everyone else. Women just need to admit that they can't do everything especially without a husband and a father in the picture. Quit blaming the men for your failures or bad decision making. Please be responsible for the choices that you make (women.) Don't blame the man when your pipe dreams don't pan out. Since, you knew from the begginning what the consequences were. The shows also feed women a false sense of worth like the world will come to an end if they don't do something it will keep turning there are 7 girl births for every male birth. So ladies you can be easily replaced. So quite whinning all the time women and just do your part and stop trying to be men because you are not. I am a women. and I hate those shows also. These young girls don't know s### and you can tell by the questions they post on this and other websites. God Help us. I thank God I had several mother figures in my life. Not someone who was trying to learn how to slide down a stripper pole, or dress like she is twenty when she is 45, or go out and get drunk with the girls on ladies night. The women do not want to cook or do household chores, now children in this country are morbidly obese and getting Diabetes at an alarming rate. The women who are the primary caregivers are shoving fast food down their throats because they are trying to work, go to stripper classes, get a makeover to look younger so they can compete with younger women, go to their gripe sessions, and do everything else under the sun but take care of their children and household. I believe the man should be the breadwinner in the household and only if he is unable to should the women take a full time job outside of the home which will take from her being a homewmaker or at least wait until their children are old enough to fend for themselves. This daycare crap is for the birds. People don't even know their children the daycare people have a better handle on your kids than you do because they are there from sun up to sun down because everyone is trying to keep up with the joneses and have everything now. It took for me to have a slip and fall at work at eight months pregnant and become permanently cripple to realize that I was working to hard and that I did not need to work 12 hour days and drive a $50,000.00 vehicle and have every damn credit card known to man and a posh gym membership. None of that **** is helping me now. You women better wake up and smell the coffee.Especially, you white women you had it made the men would go to work and take good care of you and the kids but that was'nt enough you just had to have more. No you have to try and do everything yourselves and guess what you can't and you pray to god you get child support. What a mess!

I don't hate Oprah, but I'm not a big fan of her talk show. I loved her portrayal as a strong, dignified Black woman (not because she beat up on some White people but because she stood her ground) in the movie "The Color Purple." She seems to be that sort of person in real life, but I just don't feel her show. If I get wind of something she talks about I'm interested in, I do watch.

I'm a guy and I don't hate her. I understand why she is popular.

We all need somebody. Thus, the existence of TV Preachers, Hollywood 'Stars'; prostitutes; cyber sex; etc. etc.

We all have our needs. Oprah helps some folks meet their needs.

Most of the time, a bottle of gin helps me meet my needs. Well, that and typing answers on Yahoo.

Just an opinion. Rock on, Oprah.

She is like Rosie O'Donnell with a better vocabulary. She gives a false sense of empowerment to to women. Look at the audience, half of them are morbidly obese so they cannot even gain power over food. If you listen to them talk it makes you wonder where, if any they were educated. She could do a much better job of helping women and people in general with the resources she has if she hired advisers that were truthful and not just "yes" people.
