I recently went and had acrylic nails put on. The salon is reputable and SEEMED to do a good job; they looked awesome when I left. However, the next day they started looking not so good, and by the third day, they looked terrible. There is a ton of glue flaking off around the nails, and one nail even cracked UNDER the acrylic...It looks awful. I've had my nails done many times in the past, and they usually last the full two weeks until it is time for a fill in.
So my question is this: Should I go back to the salon and demand that they fix them at no cost? Or should I just chalk it up as a loss, don't return to the salon, and find someone else to do them? I'm pretty pissed that I paid a good amount of money for something that looks so terrible *AND left a good tip*, but don't know if I should be confrontational in this situation.

Definitely go back to the salon, but I would recommend having them soaked off. If your natural nail is cracked under the acrylic, you run a huge risk of getting a nail infection. Whatever you do, DON'T let them pull or pry your acrylic off. (can you say pain?) Soak it in acetone, and gently file or scrape it until you're back down to your natural nail. That having been said, many salons out there are only in it for the money - they don't really care about the health of your nails, so you may want to call around to a few salons and ask them if they offer a soak-off service followed by a natural nail or hot-oil manicure.

If your salon is reputable, they will do what is necessary to keep you happy. Most good salons offer a 3-day guarantee on the nails anyway - even if they don't advertise it - nails should stay on a minimum of 72 hours without lifting.

give them a chance to fix it! The nails should have lasted much longer! If they give you a problem about fixing them at no cost then they do not want you as a patron. When you pay for services you expect a good finished product! Good luck and best wishes!

Go back and show them what happened. If they refuse to help, tell them that you and all of your friends that go there will bring their service elsewhere.
