I hate their big cars.
They annoy me everytime I go there.
Why don't they like smaller cars?

♥ I sincerely concur!! I certainly know what you are contemplating! I live in America, however, my parents were Europeans and I consider myself to be in touch with the European culture such as eating the right foods, spending less on possessions, buying affordable, small cars, and being open-minded with the world with languages.

♥ I see the American culture in a different perspective (in other words, I tend to think differently). However, I have no idea why they prefer those big SUVS, trucks, or Vans. I know someone who only has 2 children, yet they have the biggest car in the nation. Don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

♥ Smaller cars are more efficient plus they save people money in the long run. In addition, I believe they are more practical, since they are more capacious and secure. However, I think because the United States has that "ideal" image of having everything; having a big car is just a symbolic way of saying- "I'm living the good life." Back in the 50's, during Eisenhowers reign, everyone lived by the principle to have two cars in every garage.

♥ I suppose it's the difference in culture =)

I don't really know. I'm one of the few Americans who drives a small car. To be honest, I detest big cars (unless they are meant for large deliveries, of course). I think they are a waste of space and gas.

The cheap price of gasoline is one reason. It is half of what it is in Europe. It does not cost as much

America is also a large country in size. Getting around it is more comfortable in a larger car than a smaller one. Driving larger distances also puts more wear and tear on the transmission of smaller cars.

In Europe many people prefer smaller cars because it is easier to find parking. Many Americans also live in houses with driveways or apartments with with parking spaces.

In Europe most of the cities were built before the car so the streets are smaller and a smaller car is easier to get around.

Where I live you have an SUV or you don't go anywhere when it snows! If you have a little car, you may be snowed in for days. We have to get to work. In addition, alot of little cars are made in Europe somewhere and are expensive as anything to purchase over here. So, make them cheaper and maybe we can all afford the little sports cars. I wouldn't mind having one in addition to my SUV to drive when the weather is good.
I'm not sure where the gas is relatively cheap in America comes from....by summer it will be $3 a gallon. Our jobs are not giving us any extra money for the huge hike in gasoline prices, so the gas is not a factor in the bigger cars.

AS an American with a large car (Mercedes Station Wagon - excellent gas mileage) this is why I choose to drive a big car. . . My husband is six feet five inches tall - leg/head room very important. Safety - Number one safety ratings across the board. Work - as an interior decorator I am constantly hauling around large objects. But the oddest and most relevant reason is I just enjoy personal space.

With all due respect WE believe we have the right to big cars and cheap gas FOREVER. We've never had to really buck it up.When I was little -before power steering was invented; no one could drive a big vehicle. Truck drivers were the strongest men you could find; to turn the steering wheel. I drive a little truck and my wife a Honda. We're doing our part to conserve. Or just hate to fill a gas guzzler.
When all our jobs are shipped to China, everyone will be driving small cars or riding bicycles. Who will the upper class sell their cars to then?

Americans drive big cars because gasoline is cheap relatively speaking compared to the rest of the world.
If you doubled or even tripled the price at the pumps you would see people giving away their Hummers and buying small cars.
This happened back in the 70's and early 80's when prices at the pump doubled and tripled at the pump and everybody started buying small cars.

I quite have an expedition because of the fact i do unlike minivans because of the fact they don't have sufficient room for us for vacationing and that i've got 5 young ones, so i choose the gap so i'm able to take all of them with me on the comparable time. something smaller and we does not have sufficient room. Plus the expedition has countless bags room, so it is great for our journeys to circulate to kinfolk. we are protection stress and to circulate to my mothers and dads is a 12hr stress. the different option could be to purchase an RV. i think of that ought to apply so plenty extra suitable than my expedition does. I quite have a forty gallon tank which I replenish each and every 2 weeks with diesel. i comprehend if it replaced into gasoline it might certainly be a guzzler.

We like freedom to choose. We drive a great variety of cars, not just large ones.

Are you referring to SUV's? Some people apparently think it makes them look cool and rich. I think they look like ugly minivans, get terrible gas mileage, and are hard to drive. Smalls cars are much better.
