Of course it was, a flagrant foul showing frustration at what might have been his last collegiate game. It was the foul of a spoiled, pampered athlete, who will soon be a millionaire. If OSU does nothing, I think it shows the depths the OSU athletic program has sunk to. OSU did not win that game, X lost it. The X coach, and Thad's good friend, should be flogged for his "slow down" when all was going well. "Everything is working good, let's change it" I have never understood.
What Oden did was unexcuseable.I will never know why it was not called. Someone, officials, coaches, schools, should be brought to task for what happened. I only hope and pray, and I have been an OSU fan for many years, that they get beaten, and don't come close to a "championship" which they do not deserve. The OSU athletic department should show some "class" and take some action.

It depends upon who one is rooting for... if you're rooting for Ohio State, it was a "heat of the moment" foul that shouldn't decide a game... if you don't like Ohio State, it should have been a flagrant foul and Xavier should get the ball out of bounds and the game would be over.
Objectively, to me, it sure looked pretty flagrant. Even though Oden could be considered a 'superstar', I'm still surprised it wasn't called, because usually a big man will be called in a situation like that for picking on the little guy.
I certainly understand the concept of "letting the players decide the game", but jeez... when it's THAT obvious, I think the call has to be made. A little ticky-tack foul, then no, you don't have to call that...but it looked like Oden really hammered the guy.
I didn't see the game itself, I only saw the end of it on replay... a few dozen times...

Greg Oden did not throw justin cage to the ground, if look and actually watch the video and not be bias because you want to see the upset, Greg oden gets kinda bumped from behind and into justin, and justin also did a pretty good acting job. Oh yeah and no ref in college or NBA would have called that a "Flagrant" foul, leave it up to the players to win the game not the refs!!

Heat of the moment foul, Tweety? No matter who you are rooting for, that was a blatant technical foul. Period. You cannot throw a player down like that. It is NOT allowed. It's as simple as that.
I agree with not allowing refs and ticky tack calls to sway the course of a tight game in the final seconds. But that was over the line. I have a lot of respect for Oden, and I don't consider him a dirty player. But that was a bad foul and a terrible no-call by the referees.
I guarantee, had an Xavier player done that, it would've been a technical foul that would've decided the game in OSU's favor. Instead, it went uncalled.
I think the refs have missed some big stuff this tournament. Did you see Cain from UVA swining like Tarzan on the rim at the end of the TN/UVA game? Come on. The refs have to call crap like that. They have to. ticky tack stuff, no. BLATANT rules violations? YES!!!!
