hi! i am gg to philippines this coming April for about 10 days tour, landing at Manila Clark first and coming back from Cebu.

Would like to go for treks or hikes, and a nice beach, possibly some days spent in North Luzon, and maybe go Bohol or Negros from Cebu?

Anyone out there has some places to recommend ?

thanks in advance!

There are nice white sand beaches like Panglao, Malapascua, & Bantayan Islands. Apo island in Dauin Negros Oriental is also one of a kind. This island is small with white pebbled beach.
For some excursions... I suggest Bohol & Camiguin Island.
Good luck. (--,)

Bohol is great for diving. Boracay for swimming and also for hiking. But you should look around for a place to stay early. Boracay is especially busy this April because of the Holy Week which is from April 1-8. Also, these places that you would like to see: Bohol, Negros, Cebu, Boracay are all in the Visayas region so it should not be a hassle for you to travel to these places. There are many budget resorts online. Also you should get a map to help you get around. Good luck!

Ten days is an ambitiously short time to spend there to do strenuous hiking/camping in the woods. You're going to have to forego sleep in order to pack your activities in. LoL.

First, get fully vaccinated before you go trekking in the jungle. From Clark, you can hitch a ride north to the Sagada mountainous areas for its caves and indigenous peoples. Be warned getting there is going to be very taxing on you time and effort wise. For beaches there's Bolinao a few hours drive west of Clark, still very rustic and uncommercialized.

From Bohol, there's the soon-to-be exploited Panglao beach, arguably the most beautiful, easily accessible beach in the country, where Boracay used to be before its "destruction".

Cebu's beaches on Mactan island is a safe bet, because it does not require an adventurous soul to get there and enjoy it. Too easy and convenient.

Personally I would chose- BOHOL!

Bohol is a very wondeful place to be- especially in April :)
There are many fun activities such as going on a Loboc River Cruise where you can embark a floating vessel and there is usually a lunch buffet served in the boat (It's very relaxing I must say) You can also see the Tarsier which is the smallest primate in the world. If you enjoy swimming, it's a must that you visit Panglao Island where there are many resorts that have white sand beaches. My personal favorite resort is Panglao Island Nature Resort where the staff are very hospitable and the bungalows are very modern and very "Boholano". There is even a cave located in the resort itself! =) For more info on this particular resort, visit this site: http://www.panglaoisland.com/

Enjoy your vacation in the Philippines! :D

Go to Ilocos Region like the city of Vigan,North Luzon) it has mind blowing architecture and history, it is a city, but u can do the walking around stuff............also there is the Marcos mansion and the surrounding areas have beautiful beaches and views of the south china sea(?) I read in a book somewhere there is good hikingtrak/camping in /near Puerto Galera, although never been to Puerto galera yet. Tagaytay is nice volcanic area/lake Lake Taal, a few hour ride from Manila to the south..beautiful vegetations, keep in mind you are going in summer season it is about 34 there now. very hot but not too humid bring ur hanky and a towel and drink distilled water not just bolttled water and u will be fine. sun very strong
