I have very dry/flaky skin but it only seems to show when i put on foundation despite the fact i moisturise everyday and exfoiliate 3-4 times a week. I also have very pale skin and less than completely flawless.
So does anyone know of a good liquid based foundation in a pale tone, not too expensive, preferably tinted that won't dry out my skin?
Or does such a thing exist lol.

Barbara Daly's 'Makeup' range at Tesco. It is an award wining range, and doesnt cost the earth. They do a great foundation- you can either buy a foundation stick or moisture foundation which contains moisturisers which keep the skin is top condition. it makes the skin look dewy which is what you want and doesnt go all crumbly.

Give it a try- you can purchase her makeup from any tesco store. Im sure you will be pleased.

You seem to be doing all the right things already except in the ex foliate department. It's not a good idea to do that so often. That & mask should be used no more than once a week, or it irritates the skin continuously leaving it more flaky. The action rubs off the top layer of skin & after that you need to give the skin enough time to recover or smooth out. Many cosmetic range have also coloured moisturizers, Boots' No. 7 I find okay.

I have this same problem! Try using a thick moisturizer like Superdrug's own one after washing your face in the morning. Never use soap and water to wash your face as it will dry it out. Use a good cleanser. After applying the moisturizer, try Dream Matte Mousse by Maybelline. Use a makeup sponge or your fingers to apply it. It is very good at covering and renewing dry skin. It is about £5, so quite reasonable, and it comes in many shades. For a pale complexion I would try Ivory.

Instead of using a foundation why not try a tinted moisturiser?

Available from the Botanics range from Boots..so as your skin is dry and flaky it won't harm it with harsh chemicals.

remember to use a really good moisturizer before putting on make-up. try misting it with some evian spray as well. that's what a lot of professional make-up artists do. and you should use liquid foundation, not powder foundation or foundation in stick form. anyway, l'oreal paris true match is a good inexpensive foundation that you can try. keep yourself hydrated throughout the day. drink lots of water and mist your skin with evian spray.

Try Tinted Moisturiser.

It covers up and moisturises your skin.

Best of both worlds

well i have the same problem, try using a sensitive formula, as you could actually be allergic. i fixed mine with mousse foundation, as it blends much faster and easier, and doesn't make my skin look scaly. but do bear in mind that different products are suited to different people, so try a few brands.

Good Luck!!
