the team played for the coach to keep his job, everybody could see that, now they loose the rest of the season and will not make the playoff's.
dolan (the owner) made a mistake, he should have waited till the season was over. my opinion.

Isiah's whole off court career has been a disaster. With the Continental Basketball Association , the Raptors, Pacers and now the Knicks (Law suit, buying out Jalen, giving away expiring contracts for mega ones, expensive coach salary ever and then suit, losing 2 first round draft picks and finally...signing Jerome 'freaking' James?!!!). Calling it a mistake is a huge understatement.

I agree with you Dolan made a mistake giving Thomas a new contract. But considering some of the moves Dolan has made over the past few season I'm not surprised he did this. He saw the team winning and saw that right now they're in the playoffs so he jumped the gun. What he hasn't anticipated is the fact that they could still end up missing the playoffs because the Nets and Orlando are right behind them.
